Tegal Wangi Beach is one of the lesser-known beaches of Bali, making it more peaceful and relaxing than others. It’s located on the southern tip of the island about 1 hour south of Denpasar.
The drive will take you through roads bordered with tall, shady trees. The beach is encased in steep cliffs that provide beautiful viewpoints of the beach – sometimes, hopeful fisherman can be seen below!
Steep stairs will take you to the coast. Here, you’ll be greeted with coarse, white sand between your toes. Splash in the waves, and enjoy the sunshine.
Tegal Wangi Beach is one of the more romantic beaches of Bali. Many people choose this location for their pre-wedding photos. This is because of its relatively low foot-traffic and natural beauty. It’s also said to have some of the best sunset around; can’t get more romantic than that!
The Melasti Ceremony is often held here, part of Bali’s Nyepi “Day of Silence”.
